Goodwinds Composites, an American manufacturer of structural composite rods and tubes, recently purchased an additional 6000-square-foot production facility to expand composites fabrication in Mount Vernon, WA. The new facility will house roll-wrapping machinery and pultrusion equipment, as well as space for R&D with structural composites.
“We are thrilled to have more space to build high-quality composite components,” said Amelia Cook, co-owner of Goodwinds Composites. “The new facility will enable us serve more customers, shorten lead times, and hire and train more skilled composites technicians.”
Composite rods and tubes are critical structural components for a variety of industries. Goodwinds Composites manufactures custom roll-wrapped composite tubes for use in aerospace applications, such as military drones and as the legs of NASA’s Ingenuity Helicopter on Mars, sporting goods, such as pool cues and hiking sticks, and equipment components in industries that vary from sewage treatment plants to glass laminating factories. Goodwinds Composites also manufactures pultruded composite rods and tubes used in equipment, manufacturing, musical instruments, fabric reinforcement, and the company specializes in tight-tolerance composites machining.
